As the pandemic continues to devastate Sri Lanka with the third wave of infections, the government has imposed travel restrictions across the country to mitigate the spread. Due to these travel restrictions, families with low-income level and on daily wages have been the most affected. With the economic shutdown, they are finding it very difficult to survive.
We are determined to provide relief to daily wage-earning families, who are severely affected due to the pandemic. Manitha Neyam Trust sponsored 575 dry rations packs each worth Rs. 1500/- to low-income families and daily wage-earning families in the Batticaloa district. This project was jointly executed with the partnership of LIFT NGO.
These relief packages were distributed to the following villages within the district:
1. Paddipalai
2. Mavadichenai
3. Murutthanai – Kiran
4. Uriyankattu – Vakarai
5. Kinnayadi – Valaichenai
