Yoga is extremely beneficial for our health and wellbeing. Learning and practicing yoga is a proven method to improve health in children, in ways such as:

  1. anxiety + stress management
  2. improved emotional regulation
  3. boosts self-esteem
  4. increases body awareness and mindfulness
  5. enhances concentration and memory
  6. develops strength and flexibility
  7. teaches discipline and reduces impulsivity

Considering the benefits of yoga, MNT invited Ms. Vijitha Buviindran and Thivyaa of Raleigh, North Carolina to teach Yoga to the Sakthi Illam children every Saturday via Zoom. Many thanks to Vijitha and Thivyaa’s dedication, to enable the children of Sakthi Illam to learn and practice yoga for the past couple of months and enjoying the benefits of yoga.
