Naranthanai is a small rural village in the Jaffna District. Its school has classes up to grade 11. Their running water system is many years old and has not been functioning well for some time. If that wasn’t enough of a challenge, the water pump that was located in a separate building was stolen a year ago, so the students and teachers have been struggling to obtain water for many months.
Recently, a small, secure utility room was built for the school, a new water pump was purchased, and the water system was repaired . Now, the students and teachers have access to water.
This project was funded by Manitha Neyam Trust. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the donors for their generosity.
