Sri Lanka has been on lockdown, with an indefinite curfew and stores shutting down. The country’s response to COVID-19 has been extreme, to limit the spread in congested areas.
Unfortunately, work-from-home is not an option for the majority of people, leaving families in rural regions vulnerable. No income means no food on the table.
Thanks to our donors, during a curfew lift, we were able to deliver pantry essentials, like rice and lentils, to over 100 families in need in the Mannar district. We are grateful to all of you internationally thinking about our people, and will be waiting to deliver these goods to 100 more families once the next curfew lift occurs.
Until then, if you’d like to donate and help more families, you can do so at manithaneyam.org
