Mathavam, a support center for neuro-developmental disorders in Jaffna, was established in 2014. Services provided include early assessment and diagnoses of disorders, speech and language therapy, training for parents of special needs children and creating awareness in Sri Lanka about these developmental disorders.
Mathavam was in need of a new educational space for training and educating differently abled children. For younger kids, special needs education is available in government schools, but as kids grow up, this education is lacking in public schools.
Thanks to our donors, we were able to fully support this project, and build this beautiful space for these children to continue their education. We look forward to seeing the development of all the services provided to the children at Mathavam.
