As the pandemic continues to devastate Sri Lanka with the third wave of infections, the Sri Lankan government-imposed travel restrictions around the country to mitigate the spread. Due to these travel restrictions, families with low income and those living on daily wages have been the most affected. With the economic shutdown, they are finding it very difficult to survive.
In an effort to assist them during this tough time, Manitha Neyam Trust donated relief packages containing essentials to approximately 47 families. The project was initiated and handled by the Consortium of Humanitarian Agencies. 47 families in Kiriella area in Sabaragamuwa province benefited through this project.
All beneficiaries are estate workers and daily wage-earning families. The cost of the relief packages was funded by the Manitha Neyam Trust and its donors.
Manitha Neyam Trust expects to continue the relief donations with the help of donors and well-wishers. We thank you for your relentless support throughout these trying times!
