As the pandemic continues to devastate Sri Lanka with a third wave of infections, the government-imposed travel restrictions around the country. Due to these travel restrictions, families living below the poverty line and on daily wages are most affected. With the economic shutdown, they are finding it very difficult to survive.
Based on the request of the Chairman of Thirukkovil Divisional Secretariat, Manitha Neyam Trust donated 50 dry ration packs to families who are daily wage earners and below the poverty line through Sivaneri Arappani Manram – Kalmunai. 50 families in the Ampara district, Thirukkovil GS division received the relief packages.
The deserving families were selected by the Divisional Secretary, and goods distributed by the Sivaneri Arappani Manram – Kalmunai. The cost of the relief packages was funded by the Manitha Neyam Trust
