Monsoon rains flooded most parts of the island during the months of October to December. Most of the north and east villages were affected due to the floods, and residents of Veeramunai, Aaraiyadivembu, Oorani, Thirukkovil and Kalmunai lost their livelihood due to the floods.
Manitha Neyam Trust immediately allocated funds to help the victims, with the support of Sivaneri Arappani Manram. Manitha Neyam Trust distributed flood relief to approximately 300 victims families. MNT would like to take this opportunity to thank the donors and all the volunteers who came forward to effectively distribute the relief funds.
