In the North and East of Sri Lanka, the need for prosthetic limbs continues to grow. While many still require repairs and replacements from war-related injuries, we’re also seeing an increasing number of people losing limbs to diabetes complications and road traffic accidents.
That’s why we partnered with Meththa Foundation to bring a mobile artificial limbs clinic to Batticaloa town, a few months ago. Over three days, our team had the privilege of serving 48 people who needed prosthetic support. Every person who walked through our doors deserved the same thing we all do: the freedom to move through life with dignity and independence.
We’re hopeful that the prosthetics fitted during this clinic will restore not just mobility, but also renewed confidence and possibility for each beneficiary.
