In February 2026, Mr. and Mrs. Mithiran of Manitha Neyam Trust (MNT)-UK and
Mr. Aravinthan of MNT-USA visited the Maskeliya region in Sri Lanka’s
upcountry to inaugurate several community development projects funded by
Manitha Neyam Trust and implemented by the International Medical Health
Organization (IMHO).
These initiatives reflect our shared commitment to improving living
conditions and supporting vulnerable communities through access to essential
sanitation and clean drinking water.
Key Project Highlights
1. Foundation Laid for 100 Toilets – Valamalai, Laxapana Estate
The foundation was laid for the construction of 100 toilets in the Valamalai
area of Laxapana Estate. This initiative aims to improve sanitation, promote
better hygiene, and contribute to healthier living conditions for the local
community.
2. Clean Water Supply Project – Laxapana Division
The clean water supply project serving 400 families in the Laxapana Division
was inaugurated. Access to safe and reliable drinking water is essential for
good health, family well-being, and an improved quality of life.
3. Clean Water Supply Project – St. Andrews Upper Division
A clean water supply project benefiting 100 families in St. Andrews Upper
Division was also inaugurated, extending access to this vital resource to
more families in the upcountry region.
